Specialty Fenestration Group (SFG), the parent company of U.S. Bullet Proofing (USBP) and Quikserv, has invested in another Elumatec 628XL machining center. Company officials say the new addition supports growing demand, enhances production efficiencies and capabilities and improves lead times.

SFG installed the new Elumatec 628XL machining center at its Upper Marlboro, Maryland, facility (USBP headquarters). Officials say the equipment offers integrated automation for loading, length cutting, drilling and metal profile machining tailored to the company’s ballistic, blast, forced entry and storm-rated systems.

Officials add that previous Elumatec installations at SFG have demonstrated a 50% increase in aluminum machining and saw-cutting capacity.

“This installation is a testament to SFG’s commitment to leveraging advanced technology to meet and exceed industry quality standards,” says CEO Jason Epps. “USBP’s new Elumatec machine better complements our existing security glazing lines and enhances our ability to better serve our growing customers’ needs with shorter lead times.”
