GCV Glass Machinery now offers the Picasso V2 and Frida spray coaters. Both are a complement to digital printing and roll coating, according to the company, while Frida can replace roll coating and be retrofitted into existing lines. Both can be configured in combination as a production line with washing, drying and/or handling.

The lines are available through Custom Glass Machinery in the U.S. The company offers integrated and standalone dryers for digital printing, roll coating and proprietary applications. Infrared, convection and/or special heating methods are possible.


Heavy-Duty Washing

Billco recently released a new economical washer that blends the ruggedness and simplicity of its legacy washer with a new design and some advanced features, according to the company. The Foundation Series can anchor any tempering, laminating or insulating line, according to the company. The heavy-duty washer is available in 60-inch and 96-inch conveyor widths. The machine features a helical gear drive system, quick change bearing blocks, integrated and directed self-cleaning trays and a preventative maintenance program to assist with ease of maintenance.

Invisiwall shower enclosures by Consolidated Glass Holdings offer a complete glass-and-hardware solution and are specially designed for mid- to large-scale commercial projects. Available with standard clear glass or low-iron glass for high transparency, Invisiwall shower enclosures also can be custom fabricated with other glass types, such as
acid-etched, sand-blasted, silk-screened, decorative cracked and more. In addition, the latest styles of brackets, clamps, handles and hinges are available in brushed or polished nickel, polished chrome and oil-rubbed bronze, as well as other finishes upon request.

Micro Crane, Big Reach

M1 Global Model Microcranes help install curtainwalls from the exterior of buildings to minimize large crane rentals, speed up production and lower costs. The M1 Global design fits through36-inch doorways, narrow aisles and inside elevators, yet expands to boom up to a 22-foot tip height. The multi-purpose lifting crane has several configurations including a rooftop configuration allowing floor-to-floor or ground-to-roof lifting of materials of up to seven stories. Safety features include an upper limit switch (anti-two-block), 1.5 load safety factor, 4:1 rated hook with safety latch, brakes on rear and front wheels, brake on winch, dual stop points on four-piece boom and a winch shield. The M1 Global hydraulic pick and carry portable crane is rated at 2,000 pounds (no operator license required) and has a hook height of 20 feet 2 inches.



Meeting Your Equinox

Trex Commercial Products has re-engineered its Equinox and Monaco railing systems to offer more customizable features. The Equinox includes a rod-and-disc assembly that offers zero visible fasteners. Featuring the strength and sleek, modern aesthetic of premium stainless steel, the system offers a variety of post, top rail and handrail options. Equinox’s stainless steel rod-and-disc assemblies attach through the glass panels. The minimalist design gives the illusion of a solid system—but with the flexibility of individual component selection.

The Monaco is an economical railing solution for high-traffic commercial settings. This classic, simple system uses sleek stainless steel clamps to mount the glass infill, for a barely-there appearance, and like Equinox, is available with a variety of design options. Specifiers can choose from either square or D-shaped stainless steel clamps, as well as round, square or rectangle posts. Rubber isolator discs inside the clamps prevent glass infill from touching metal and provide vibration dampening. Monaco railing also can be used with radius and fascia-mounted applications.


Reducing Injury

The GRS Taper-Loc glass railing system from C.R. Laurence features new safety seal technology that allows installation of the outside rubber seal before the glass. Glaziers no longer have to reach over the railing to roll in the seal, minimizing the risk of injury. The patented Taper-Loc dry-glaze system reduces installation time by as much as 50%, according to the company. The base shoe is 30% lighter than previous models, according to the company, making it easier to handle.

The company also offers the Fallbrook Demountable Partition, which features an ultra-thin door frame that is suitable for contemporary interiors. Low-profile channels o adjacent sidelites and no exposed fasteners complement the streamlined aesthetic, according to the company. Fallbrook is a front load, dry-glazed system that allows for easier installation and fast replacement of glass lites.


Glass Canopies

Custom Canopy

Exterior Technologies Inc.’s (Extech) new SkyShade 2500 Series glass canopy system can be incorporated into freestanding structures, pavilions, walkways and other covered entrances for commercial, industrial and transportation applications. The system can be ordered in a variety of shapes and sizes. It is purpose-built to fabricate, ship and install quickly at economical pricing, according to the company. The canopy system is engineered for long spans, up to 12-foot lengths, and glass panels with 9/16-inch or larger thicknesses. It accommodates 1:12 slopes. Optional glass coatings and custom silkscreen patterns help to diffuse the direct top-lighting and to control unwanted solar heat gain. If future updates are desired or repairs needed, the glass panels can be replaced individually. It uses recycled aluminum, and after its useful life as part of a canopy, the metal is 100% recyclable.
