Sisecam Group, a Turkey-based glass manufacturer with production in 13 countries in sales in 150, has established flat glass and automotive glass production plants in the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation.

The investment totals $310 million.

Sisecam holds a 70-percent share in the flat glass plant with Saint-Gobain holding the other 30 percent. That plant has a total production capacity of 230,000 tons, according to the company.

The plants were officially opened with a recent ceremony hosted by Dr. Reha Akçakaya, Sisecam Flat Glass Group president. Nihat Zeybekci, minister of economy of the Turkish Republic, and Rustam Minnihanov, Tatarstan president, attended the ceremony.
