Sisecam recorded consolidated net sales of $2.9 billion in the first half of 2023. The company’s international sales accounted for 64% of its total sales. For the first half of the year, Sisecam posted total investments of $357 million, while its exports reached $560 million during the same period.

Officials say Sisecam produced 2.5 million tons of glass, 2.3 million tons of soda ash and 1.8 million tons of industrial raw materials throughout the first half of 2023.

Sisecam CEO Görkem Elverici states that the company’s growth is fueled by its push deeper into innovative technology and a focus on data-driven decision-making.

Throughout the first half of 2023, Sisecam officials say that the company completed cold repairs of its second glass packaging furnace in Georgia. The investment also adds new technologies to the furnace, which expanded Sisecam’s glass production capacity in Georgia by 25%.

Sustainability was also a focus for Sisecam during the first half of 2023. The company signed the United Nations Women’s Empowerment Principles to emphasize the importance of gender equality.

In addition, Ahmet Kırman, Sisecam’s chairperson and executive member of the board of directors, was named the “Glass Person of the Year 2023” by the Phoenix Award Committee for his contributions to developing the global glass industry.
