The Glazing Industry Returns to Atlanta for GlassBuild America

GlassBuild America (GBA) ditches the bright lights of Sin City in favor of Southern hospitality. The annual glass and glazing industry event runs from October 31 to November 2, 2023, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. The event will offer attendees the chance to network and mingle with more than 400 exhibitors on the trade show floor. Here’s a look at some of the products that exhibitors will display.

Accurate Lock and Hardware Co.: Booth 2504

Accurate Lock and Hardware will exhibit its M1700E motor drive electrified narrow backset mortise lock. Officials describe the M1700E as an “ultra-narrow” backset lock, the newest to its electromechanical line of mortise locks. It is designed for use on glass doors with aluminum stiles and eliminates the need for electric strikes. The lock can be
paired with other decorative or
commercial trim options.

A+W Software: Booth 2321

Building off the success of the Smart Companion Production and Delivery, A+W is rolling out its newest digital solution, the A+W Smart Companion Stock. The app aims to help improve control of hardware and stock inventory. It helps users properly stage stock items to pair with fabricated glass orders and speed up cycle counting with electronic inventory lists. Officials say employees can better track goods receipts, stock movements, outgoing goods and inventory in real time.

Banner Solutions: Booth 3508

Attendees can visit Banner Solutions to learn about its Steel Hawk 4300 electrified
deadlatch. The product is a non-handed, narrow backset electrified deadlatch designed for easy integration with access control systems. The Steel Hawk easily upgrades doors from mechanical to electrical, improving the security and control of openings. It is an electrified, no-cut, no-drilling replacement for mechanical MS series deadlocks and deadlatches.

Bavelloni America Inc.: Booth 3631

Bavelloni will showcase some of its machinery, including the VE 500 V10 SCS vertical miter machine. Officials say the straight-line edger can process flat edges with arises and miters ranging from 0 to 45 degrees. The spindle control system (SCS) version incorporates an SCS for automated wheel positioning, resulting in consistent quality finishes, minimized waste and increased lifespan of tools, according to the company.

Biesse Glass: Booth 3431

Biesse Glass and Forvet’s high-performance Francesca series delivers rapid and precise glass countersinking, milling and drilling on flat glass sheets with thicknesses from 3-19 mm (25 mm optional). It has a 1,220 mm working width and no limit on length.

Burkle: Booth 1241

The easy-LAM IFL glass laminator from Burkle is designed to replace the conventional autoclave process, including prelamination, with a multi-stage lamination route and
guarantees noticeably faster glass lamination processes. They explain that advantages include energy-efficient operations, short cycle times and reduced manpower requirements. This is compared to the “traditional” approach of laminating architectural, custom, protective and solar products.

Cooltemper USA: Booth 3250

Cooltemper will highlight its patented dynamic quench and dynamic wind box cooling system. According to the company, the system is designed to save up to 30% of the energy
required to quench and cool the glass during the tempering process. The fully automatic system has several advantages, including minimal fan speeds, energy cost savings and low
carbon dioxide levels. The system can also increase quench pressure on a small bed loading area required for thin glasses and reduce the electrical power supply by limiting the bed size for certain glass types.

C.R. Laurence: Booth 1621

CRL’s Fallbrook Series of glass partition systems features a slim floating door frame with all-glass spans for contemporary office designs. Available in both framed and semiframed formats, officials say the Fallbrook Series divides spaces while maintaining transparency and daylighting. The series offers advanced options, including sound mitigation
in the Fallbrook XL line and grid designs that can be freely positioned without notching or drilling in the Fallbrook XL NY series.
