Russian company Saratovstroysteklo will start producing energy-saving glass in 2019. The volume of investments in the project will amount to $25.4 million.

“JSC Saratovstroysteklo plans to modernize its production facilities. There will be new workshops equipped with equipment for the production of energy-saving glass. The total investment in the project is more than 1.5 billion rubles ($25.4 million). The company is expected to reach its full capacity in 2019,” says Andrey Kulikov, minister of industry and energy.

He specified that the volume of production will be 8 million square meters of high-tech glass per year.

“At the moment, the company received a soft loan worth 500 million rubles ($8.5 million) from the Russian Industry Development Fund. Now the building of the shop is being built and equipment is being purchased,” says Kulikov.

According to the minister, 23 new high-tech jobs will be created. This is the first large-scale project to produce energy-saving glass in the region. It is expected that the plant’s products will be used in construction, not only in the Saratov region, but also exported to other regions and abroad.

The factory for the production of window glass was established in Saratov in 1958. JSC Saratovstroysteklo is one of the largest manufacturers of sheet glass in Russia. It employs 445 people.
