In the Industry News section of the January/February 1985 issue, the lead article was Phifer Wire Products’ receiving the Presidential “E” Award.

The award, according to the article, “was established in 1961 by President John F. Kennedy to recognize the importance of expanding the nation’s export trade, but its origin dates back to World War II.”

Phifer president Reese Phifer accepted the award from President Ronald Reagan in a White House ceremony, which you can see in the picture within the article. Check it out below.
