Zeynep Cevikel, vice president and founding member of TACCS, said Astro Glass aims to expand in the U.S. and open a warehouse “as soon as they are able to.”

According to the Turkish American Chamber of Commerce of the South (TACCS), Turkey-based Astro Tempered Glass is moving to Atlanta. TACCS officials say the company will open a small sales office in the city.

Saban Acikgoz A.S., which operates Astro Glass, was established in 1955 as a construction materials wholesaler. It started producing double-glazed units in 1994. It began producing tempered glass under the Astro Glass brand name in 2008.

Astro Glass opened its first tempered glass facility in Edirne, Turkey, in 2008. Its second facility was established in Çerkezköy, Turkey, in 2013. The company’s annual tempering capacity is 7.5 million square feet. It supplies glass for shower enclosures, commercial refrigeration and interior architectural applications.
