If you’re planning for a future machinery purchase, GlassCon Global VE-Glass Expo VE has a seminar you won’t want to miss. The live panel discussion, “You’re Purchasing New Equipment – What to Know Before You Buy,” will take place Thursday, September 10, from 4-5 p.m., and will feature both machinery suppliers and glass fabricators, sharing their dos and don’ts for a successful machinery purchase. Attendees will also be able to ask questions.

Panelists will include: John Dwyer, president, Syracuse Glass Co.; Nancy Mammaro, CEO of Mappi; Louis Moreau, head of innovation and technology with AGNORA; and Mike Rosato, western region machine sales director for Salem Glass & Mirror. The session will be moderated by Ellen Rogers, editor of USGlass magazine.

“This is such an important topic, as there are so many questions and considerations a company should take before buying new equipment,” says Rogers. “This session will delve into the entire machinery buying process—from signing the dotted line, to installation and follow up.”

GlassCon Global-GlassExpo VE will take place virtually September 9-10, and organizers say it is unlike any virtual event seen thus far. Co-sponsored by the Finishing Contractors Association International, USGlass and [DWM] magazine, the event combines the GlassCon Global educational program with Glass Expos for a familiar two-day format.

The virtual platform contains many opportunities to engage and interact between exhibitors and attendees, including a trade show, seminars and networking events. The educational line-up includes 24 sessions, complete with live question-and-answer portions with presenters.

In addition, a number of optional events will be offered, including a virtual 5K in support of St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, virtual wine tasting, sponsored by Groves Inc. and led by sommelier Chris Fronsoe with DeaMor, morning meditation and yoga, sponsored by USGlass and [DWM] magazines, and a closing happy hour.
