Three new hires have joined Wheaton Sprague Building Envelope’s North Carolina office.

Chris Coker is the company’s new client relationship leader.

Coker hails most recently from Mid Marketing Business Consultant Construction Data Company, a company that provides a construction project reporting platform to help businesses drive revenue through new project opportunities.

He also spent 10 years as a regional sales manager with The Steel Network, out of Raleigh, N.C. There he provided project management, technical sales, business development, consulting and technical support for the light gauge steel framing industry. His expertise included support of curtain wall construction and load bearing projects, software support for light gauge steel framing, reviews of engineering and architectural specifications, corporate strategic planning, coordination of manufacturing and production with distribution channels and supervision of customer service.

The client relationship leader position is a newly created position for Wheaton Sprague that encompasses the seller-doer model. Coker will be a chief rainmaker for this branch office and region who will help to grow our office in size and capability. He will also provide project management services, overseeing and managing teams and resulting work products from the company’s full suite of services.

Evelyn King

Evelyn King comes to Wheaton Sprague most recently from Accurate Drafting in Norfolk, Va., where she served diligently for nearly 10 years. There, King honed her highly developed AutoCAD skills drafting shop drawings for aluminum curtain wall, storefront, windows, sunshades, doors and all glass elevations. Manufacturer’s products included Kawneer, YKK AP America, Oldcastle/Vistawall, Pittco, Efco, Epco, Doormation, Tubelite, US Aluminum, Manko Window Systems, Wausau Windows, C.R. Laurence and Dorma.

“We are pleased to welcome [King] to our North Carolina team! [King]’s extensive knowledge of curtain wall and storefront systems will help us to grow as an office, and continue our pursuit of creating structure for our clients,” says Mertz.

Ed Barys is the branch’s new project design technician. He came to North Carolina by way of First Energy Corporation in Akron, Ohio.

Barys is an experienced design detailer, versed in many aspects of drafting and detailing. He has more than 30 years’ experience in multiple fields of architectural, civil and mechanical design detailing. He is excited to learn more about facade and curtain wall detailing as he grows with the Cary office.
