The Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC) announced the results of its annual election of officers and directors.

Matt McMahon, president of Pries Enterprises in Independence, Iowa, was elected to serve a one-year term as chairperson of AEC. “I look forward to continuing the important work of the council with programs that develop business excellence, expand the extrusion industry and defend the trade tariffs against unfair competition,” says McMahon.

Scott Kelley, president and CEO of Service Center Metals in Prince George, Va., will serve as vice chairperson. Mike Flynn, president of APEL Extrusions Ltd. in Calgary, Alberta, was elected to the at-large position on the executive committee.

The group elected Martin Bidwell, president and CEO of Magnode Corp. in Trenton, Ohio, as immediate past chairman, and Rick Merluzzi, CEO of Pennex Aluminum in Wellsville, Pa., as past chairman. As announced earlier, Jeff Henderson was appointed president of the council.

In addition, four new board members were added as extruder directors: Brook Massey, president of MI Metals in Oldsmar, Fla.; Brook Hamilton, president of Bonnell Aluminum in Newnan, Ga.; and Jason Weber, director of business development of energy and construction products for Sapa Extrusions in Rosemont, Ill.

Elected as producer director was Matthew Castle, director metal sales of the Americas for Alcoa Primary Metals in Knoxville, Tenn. Re-elected to three-year terms as extruder directors were Shayne Seever, vice president of Sierra Aluminum in Riverside, Calif., and Charles McEvey, executive vice president of Western Extrusions Corp. in Dallas.
