The North American Iron Workers and IMPACT recently announced the winners of their 2016 Project of the Year awards at their annual meeting in early March.

2015 ARCHITECTURAL ORNAMENTAL AWARD WINNERS EVENT PHOTOEnclos Corp. and Iron Workers Local 5 (Washington) won in the architectural/ornamental category for their work on the National Museum of African American History.

The awards include five categories. The other segments are bridge/structural; reinforcing; industrial/rigging/machinery moving; and fabrication.

Eric Dean, general president of the Iron Workers, and Bill Brown, chairman of Ben Hur Construction Co., presented the awards at the event.

“Across the board, we saw a serious focus on safety,” says Dean. “These projects and project leaders made safety the first and last point of concentration each and every day.”

The deciding panel consisted of Ted Sheppard, vice president of The DuRoss Group; Eric Waterman, former CEO of IMPACT; and Tad Kicielinski, retired general vice president of the Iron Workers and a former regional director of IMPACT.
