Donovan Rueben Larson, the longtime owner of Larson’s Glass in Puyallup, Washington, died on June 22, 2026. Larson’s Glass was a family-owned and operated business that served the Western Washington community for 74 years before the family sold it in 2020.
Larson was born in Puyallup on April 19, 1933, to Rueben and Josephine Larson. He graduated from Puyallup High School in 1951 and later attended Pacific Lutheran College. He was a longtime member of the Eagles and Elks lodges, served for 20 years in the Washington National Guard and spent 10 years as a civil service commissioner for the City of Puyallup.
As the owner of Larson’s Glass, Larson completed hundreds of school construction projects across Western Washington. According to his obituary, Larson’s favorite accomplishment was installing the first gold reflective glass at Allenmore Hospital and contributing to the construction of the original South Satellite at Sea-Tac Airport.
Shirley Walsh of the Washington Glass Association (WGA) says Larson “was a valued and instrumental member of the WGA during its founding years, and his contributions are remembered with deep appreciation.”
