Pleotint has formed a distribution partnership with Gilkey Window Company that will allow Gilkey to offer Suntuitive glass with its full product line.

Gilkey, a 33-year-old family-owned company, specializes in the manufacturing and installation of custom windows and doors, serving Cincinnati; Chicago; Dayton, Ohio; and Lexington and Louisville, Ky.

“Suntuitive glass is the perfect solution for our customers’ needs by counteracting the sun’s heat and glare when needed, but also preserving daylighting and views all day long,” says Mike Gilkey, president. “The unique glass is an easy-to-use, cost-efficient product compared to other options and doesn’t need to be wired or controlled electrically.”

According to Pleotint, when paired with low-emissivity glass in an insulating glass unit, Suntuitive glass can produce visible light transmittance of as high as 60 percent in a clear state, solar heat gain coefficients of as low as 0.11 in a darkened state, and reduce heating-, cooling-, and lighting-related energy costs.
