Every Thursday leading up to USGlass magazine’s 50th Anniversary celebration in August, USGNN.com™ is taking a look back at past issues and highlighting advertisements, stories and images that ran throughout the publication’s half-century life. This week, we’re getting technical.

In the below ad, which ran in the November/December 1985 issue of USGlass, Technical Glass Products (TGP) is featuring its X-ray glass. “For X-ray glass & sound advice, it’s Technical Glass,” the ad reads. The glass came in maximum sizes of 48-by-96 inches, like it still does today.

TGP still produces X-ray shielding glass, along with a range of “technical” products that include its prominent fire-rated glass and framing capabilities.

What do you think? What has changed since then? What would you like to see in a future edition of Throwback Thursday? Leave your thoughts in the comment section, and we’ll see you next week.
