Two Dow Corning industry scientists, Larry Carbary and Andreas T. Wolf, edited ASTM International’s technical papers collection “Durability of Building and Construction Sealants and Adhesives.”

The compilation contains 17 peer-reviewed technical articles from a range of industry experts, including facade consultants, engineers, architects and sealant producers. The articles focus on functionally and aesthetically pleasing long-lasting designs that are built to performance standards, according to a release from Dow.

Carbary is also a key contributor to the new International Organization for Standardization 11618 standard “Sealants – Classification and requirements for pedestrian walkway sealants,” a long-term development project currently in publication.

“The development of new standards is critical to evolving and improving the construction industry,” says Carbary. “Continuous improvement through these standards is critical to ensuring sustainable, high performance, safe and aesthetically appealing structures.”
